My TV Show Master List (a snippet, suggestions welcome)
Main Post: My TV Show Master List (a snippet, suggestions welcome)
Top Comment:
Hi there! I'm too excited to share this. I have been working on a master list of all the shows I have watched and want to watch! Its the work of an insanely bored person, who enjoys TV maybe a little too much. This is only a snippet of a "finished" section, there are about 150+ more shows after Cabinet of Curiosities. I plan to post my final version soon once I've managed to fill everything out, its just very time consuming and I seem to constantly be getting reminded of shows I have seen to heard of and need to add so I don't forget them!
Let me know if theres somewhere else I should post this, and let me know if theres any improvements to be made. This is a work in progress. The ratings and suggestions section is fully based on vibes. I tend to like a lot of things so lots of my shows are rated 8/10.
Adding TV Show episodes is going to lead to a hellish user experience…

Top Comment: I think if they’re going to add tv shows it should be by season, not by episode. Perhaps even by whole series once a show is done.

What happened to “My Shows”?
Main Post:
iOS user here. Running Spotify 8.9.76.516.
On the home page there used to be a category called “my shows” or maybe “your shows.” When I clicked on a podcast in that category, it would take me to the list of episodes and put me at the episode I had most recently been listening to.
This category is GONE. It’s been gone for weeks now. I’ve scrolled through the entire front page every time I open the app. I have NO option to choose my podcast from the Home Screen other than to choose the thing at the top where it takes you to the most recent episode, or above that to filter into podcasts. And no matter how I get to a show now, it always takes me to the most recently posted episode. My podcasts have hundreds of episodes and I have to scroll and scroll and scroll to get to the episode I’m on.
What happened to the “my shows” part of the home page??

Why Are My Shows in Russian??
Main Post:
This has been happening for a couple years now and I cannot find a solution. I’m in the US, I don’t speak Russian, my language settings are all set to English, but most shows (not all) that I try to play on my profile are subtitled and dubbed in Russian! The other three profiles work fine, it’s just mine. I went to a web browser to verify everything is correct. I even chose a different language, saved, and then changed back to English, but it’s still freaking Russian
Has anyone else heard of this?? Any possible solutions??

Those with a free acct how are you adding additional shows to your app
Main Post:
I use trakt with Kodi to keep tracks of all my shows in collections, since i reached my 100 episode limit, im using an addon called auto widget, i just create a folder named shows in my favorites section and all shows i want to watch i add it there, it works good and its free.
Top Comment: I moved to another platform. Luckily, Trakt's dumb greed opened the door to new players in this game.
How do you guys keep track of TV shows your watching?
Main Post:
I do know that some sites like myanimelist exist for anime. Looking on google I see some apps like MyShows on GooglePlaystore but never used it before. Can anyone vouch if its good or any actual good apps they can recommend to keep track of shows? I really wanna try watching all 32 seasons of the simpsons this year.
Top Comment: I use SeriesGuide on Android. I'm not sure if it's available on iOS.
What site do you guys use to track ur TV Shows?
Main Post:
I hope this question is allowed on this subreddit since it technically isn't about letterboxd.
So I've been using trakt for many many years now, but recently swapped over to anilist for my anime, and now that i've gotten into rating the things i watched (didn't used to rate anything beforehand) I'm not really liking the whole trakt UI, so i was thinking of swapping over to letterboxd (since a friend heavily recommends it) for movies at least since it doesn't have shows.
But then that would leave me with finding another site to use to track my shows. So I was wondering what you guys use to track your tv shows?
Top Comment: serializd, it piggybacks on the idea of letterboxd, its not as good in some aspects but i think its perfectly great for tracking, its pretty known it shows what show ur currently watching on the home page for easy access of successive logs, has a comment/review section under each episode, diary view, customizable profile favorites and posters/banners
How do you keep track of new TV shows?
Main Post:
So I've been using r/television's sidebar calendar to track what new TV shows are coming out religiously for years. But lately I've been noticing lots of new shows just aren't popping up. For example I had no idea about Prime Target until I saw someone post about it here and I randomly just saw some new series called Coyotl on MAX while watching The Pitt. These are just a few examples but there have certainty been more.
God bless u/NicholasCajun for the work he's been doing but it can't be easy keeping up with everything in this streaming era. As a TV addict I just like to know what's out there incase I miss a hidden gem.
Does anyone use anything else to know what new shows are coming out? Looking for suggestions.
Top Comment: TV time app
What do people recommend for tracking movies and tv shows?
Main Post:
Right now I just have a note listing most movies, TV and anime I've watched with stars next to them. Very basic and the issue is when I go back sometimes I can't remember what the movie was about or even the genre.
I'm looking for an app where I can search the name of the media, say I've watched it, maybe give it a quick rating and see a summary of it if I go back to it later. If it has anime in its index and no ads that's a plus. Also sort by genre and rating would be cool.
Top Comment: I get obsessed with finding the perfect app in each category . I tried about 25 media-tracking apps, and the criteria you list, I think the best functionality and UI are found in Cinexplore . It features personal ratings, and personal notes (rare among such apps), on movies, episodes, seasons and whole series. HOWEVER... Cinexplore is riddled with intrusive ads if you don't pony up for a hefty subscription (it once had a lifetime option, but no longer) The developer refuses to add the option of ignoring articles ("The," "A," "An") at the beginning of titles, so every damn movie that starts with "The" are grouped together) The app uses Trakt, which does a gawd-awful job of tracking TV shows that broadcast stories outside of their official "seasons" — for example, "Doctor Who" and "Futurama" are complete clusterfucks in any app that uses Trakt (which is most movie/TV-tracking apps) The app defaults to date-stamping with today's date for everything you mark as watched, and to fix that you have to hand-edit every damn title you watched some time other than today. Most other apps I've rejected for having limited functionality (especially compared to Cinexplore), a terrible UI/UX, or being riddled with ads and not as good as Cinexplore. Showly is almost as good as Cinexplore, with a clear, clean, simple UI, and has a $13 lifetime license (last time I checked). But it has a lot of the same shortcomings (Trakt-based), and the navigation isn't as good, and while it ignores "The" at the beginning of titles, it doesn't ignore "A" or "An." Series Guide (no ads — I think — $5/year for some features) is pretty good too, but has a busy UI, and links outside the app for some features that should be included (like which streaming services offer the title you're looking at). There's no way to date-stamp when you mark something as watched. You might also just look at the IMDb app. Other apps I've rejected: CheatCut (bare-bones Trakt + social) CineTrak (limited functionality, persistent ads) Flixi (acct required to even try) Hobi (great at upcoming, but otherwise limited) JustWatch (terrible, clutter UI; bad at "Doctor Who") Memento (database app, no episodes) Moviebase (busy UI, $$) Moviefy (even worse at "Doctor Who" than Trakt apps!) MyShows (acct required to even try) Next Episode PlayPilot (won't even launch) Qewd (a real mess) Serializd (No notes, ep details, or "specials"; social & public) Simkl Lists (acct required to even try) Trakt (official app, absolutely terrible) TV Guide (schedule-focused) TV Listings (schedules) TV Show Tracker TV Time (acct required, absurdly huge app) TVShow Time Watched (missing seasons +) Watch List (every season added separately?!?) Personally, I use ReelGood, but it doesn't meet most of your criteria.
